| First Choice Therapist is On Air as Sports Injury Guru |
It is a fall Friday night and the Carlisle High School's Thundering Herd takes the field as fans, band members and cheerleaders all watch in anticipation. Joe Buletza, PT, clinic director of the Carlisle office of First Choice Rehab takes his place on the broadcast platform of WHYL 960AM Radio high above the crowd. Dubbed "Sports Injury Guru" by WHYL play-by-play announcer Kevin Kramer, Joe is on hand as the radio station broadcasts the game live to the Carlisle community. At half time, Buletza briefly updates listeners on any possible injuries to Herd team members and offers advice on sports medicine and athletic injuries. Discussions focus on various topics such as the length of healing time for injuries, immediate treatment, long-term exercises, and possible surgical procedures if any that are needed. An avid sports fan, Joe appreciates the chance to review the first half of the game on air with the broadcast crew. Buletza is a dedicated member of the Carlisle community. Besides running the Carlisle Clinic at 1 Valley Street and helping patients there, he assists athletes at Boiling Springs, Big Springs and Carlisle high schools. He also provides athletic training services at the PIAA State Championships of wrestling and cross country. Joe has lived and worked in Carlisle for over 20 years and is pleased to be on hand to support the football team and their families. |
