"Care of your feet is critical if you are
diabetic," says Mark McDonald, MPT, Cped. "Diabetes
results in poor circulation with healing, foot deformity
and decreased sensation in the foot." He states that
these problems can lead to callusing with ulcers that,
without proper shoe wear with orthotic support, can lead
to amputation.
